Chunmei Jia is a Los Angeles-based ceramic artist. Born in China, she studied art history in New York, and her pottery practice pursues time-honored and hand-crafted techniques from different cultural contexts. Nature has a distinct influence on her work, as do a dense collection of ideas and inspiration ranging from ceramic sculpture to daily kitchen vessels, in which art and life are fully merged.
