Higonokami Utility Knives

Higonokami Utility Knives are made in Japan by the fifth generation Nagao Kanekoma Factory. The Higonokami knife is distinguished by the small handle or chikiri (tail) used to unfold the blade. Designed for utility, they do not have a locking mechanism and instead use friction to stay open. When holding the knife, press down on the handle with your thumb to prevent the blade from accidentally closing.

Stamped with the Higonokami trademark, an indicator of authenticity, which is now exclusive to the brand. The double edged, V-shaped blade is hand-forged from iron and SK steel (silver version) or blue steel Yasuki Blue (Aogami) #2, Soft Iron Clad (black version) and can be used in either hand.

• medium - 6.5 inches, blue steel blade, brass handle
