Handcarved Bears Folk Toy

A Traditional Folk Toy with Great Old World Charm. The small village of Bogorodskoye has long been the most celebrated center of wood carving in Russia. Villagers have been selling wooden toys to pilgrims trekking to the nearby Holy Trinity Monastery for hundreds of years.

Clever toys depicting animals in humorous activities have been age-old favorites. The toys have movable parts, so the animals come to life! Hold the toy by its handle and move it in a circle so that the pendulum swings and you can make a bear play the piano, a set of drums, or go fishing!
