Handmade Wooden Xylophone
Couldn't load pickup availability
Very rustic, these handmade wooden xylophones are made by skilled artisans in Indonesia. They produce a lovely sound using the wood mallet that's included. One might also try playing with a rubber head mallet to produce a different level of sound for each chime.
Traditionally, a xylophone is made with wooden keys or bars. A more appropriate name for these small instruments would be a glockenspiel or a metallophone, which are made with metal bars for sound.
Probably not for a professional musician unless you're looking for a rustic (i.e., not perfect pitch) from bar to bar - but the sound is CHARMING! and pleasant to the ears.
Find beauty in imperfection! Artisans make every effort to create only the best instruments by hand, but there will be natural blemishes, and imperfections are what make each piece unique, captivating, and rich in stunning details.
The chimes we received do not have the black tribal painting on them as shown in the photos. They are simply painted red with a bright yellow stripe on each side. The metal bars are gold, and the mallet is a natural wood, very light to hold.
