Sculptor Alexander Calder's whimsical circus has delighted children and adults alike since he created and first performed it in 1926. Since 1970, the circus has been displayed at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. In this visually stunning look at the circus in action, Kalman's playful text and Brun's vibrant photographs burst off the page to charm young readers.

Maira Kalman is an American artist, illustrator, writer, and designer known for her painting and writing about the human condition. She is the author and illustrator of over 30 books for adults and children, and her work is exhibited in museums around the world. 

Donatella Brun is a photographer of buildings and things. Her award-winning work has appeared in magazines and books throughout the world. She was born in Milan and lives in New York with a tiger named Jay.
