Solid Wooden Egg

The egg is such a delightful shape in nature and these little eggs are simply for enjoying the shape as is.

Our Shop has been renamed its original 1965 name, The Egg and The Eye, so we have eggs all over the place! These eggs are solid wood which you can decorate, paint, stain, draw, woodburn, or just leave in their natural wood form.

Eggs are made from top quality linden wood, unpainted blanks are hand carved in Polkhovski Maidan, the biggest centre of nesting doll production in Russia. The eggs have a flattened bottom so they are self-standing.

Note: real wood has imperfections, including but not limited to; discolorations, knots, holes and dry spots. While we strive to pick the best, blemish free linden wood for the blank products, imperfections will occur. In the case of knots, dents or holes the vendor may use wood putty to fill these areas. This creates a smooth surface for decorating.

These eggs measure 2" and can stand upright, the bottoms are flattened to allow for this.

Handmade in Russia.
