Zul Missing Dot Scarf - Black and White
This is a very special scarf in a fine, handwoven silk/cotton blend that looks striking from every vantage point. Viewed at close range, one can observe the thousands of individual needle marks that run along the length of it, a mark of the painstaking shibori dye process used to create its variegated color and texture. The addition of interspersed clamp-dyed dots make this a masterpiece of craft artistry.
A generously sized yet lightweight scarf, it measures approx. 40" W x 94" L.
Due to the handmade nature of this item, dimensions are approximate and colors may be slightly different between pieces.
Handmade in India for Mimbres.
The Mimbres textile collection was born out of a deep appreciation for the one-of-a-kind nature of things that are handcrafted.
In a world where mass production has become the norm, Mimbres set out to present the work of the finest textile artists and craftspeople from India and Southeast Asia. This led to the pursuit of traditional and vintage textiles, along with a contemporary re-interpretation of age-old techniques and motifs.
Mimbres is intrigued by sustainable materials, such as natural plant-based dyes, organic cotton, flax, nettle and wild silk. In addition to presenting traditional hand-woven and block-printed textiles, they are inspired by expanding the potential of various dyeing techniques such as Bandhani, Shibori, clamp and dip-dyeing.
